The Mira App: How do I know when to test my hormones?
Purchasing your first Mira Kit is an exciting moment – but it can also be frustrating!
Dozens of questions may arise like…
“When should I start testing?”
“Can I do it right now?”
“What do I do if I have more than one type of wand (for example, Max and Ovum)? Should I test with both?”
We understand your concerns, and we want to make the process easier for you. That’s why the Mira App provides personalized ‘Testing Recommendations’ that let you know:
- Which day you should test and
- Which wand(s) you should use
These recommendations are based on your fertility goals, cycle data, and the wands that you have chosen.
The simplest way to access these recommendations is through the Calendar Mode. In this mode, the Mira App displays colored dots on the days when you need to perform tests.
Depending on your cycle length, testing can be done every day after your period or every 2-3 days.
If your Mira Monitor arrives towards the end of your cycle, simply start testing immediately after your period – and make sure to stock up on wands ahead of time too!
When it comes to timing your tests, we recommend using first-morning urine (FMU) for the most accurate results.
If testing with FMU doesn’t align with your lifestyle, you can test at any time as long as you avoid consuming liquids for at least 2 hours before testing. This precaution is necessary as liquid intake can negatively impact the test results.
Note: If you receive a positive ovulation reading in the morning, we recommend testing again within the next 6 hours to confirm. It’s important to remember that hormonal surges often peak throughout the day. After a positive result, ovulation commonly takes place within the next 24-36 hours.
Now you can read:
- What is my ‘Fertility Score’ and how does it work?
- How do I read Mira charts?
- How does Mira predict and confirm ovulation?
- How to read LH results?
- How to read PdG results?
- How to read FSH results?
- How to read E3G results?
