Mira VS Inito: What’s the Best Fertility Tracker?
Thanks to new technologies, understanding our reproductive hormones and planning a pregnancy has never been easier.
However, with so many new at-home hormone testing solutions available, choosing the right one for your situation can be a challenge. This is especially true if you have irregular cycles or if your hormone levels don’t fit within the “textbook” ranges.
To help, our team member Trish shares her experience closely using trying to conceive hormone testing options: the Mira Max Starter Kit and the Inito Starter Kit.
We used the following evaluation criteria:
- Hormone Coverage: Compares which hormones (LH, E3G, PdG, FSH) each kit measures.
- Accuracy and Technology: Assesses lab-grade precision (Mira) versus phone camera-based results (Inito).
- Ease of Use: Considers setup, device compatibility, and app usability.
- Cost: Compares initial and ongoing expenses, including subscriptions.
- Suitability: Evaluates effectiveness for irregular cycles, PCOS, or fertility treatments.
- User Experience: Highlights personal preferences and satisfaction.
- Pros and Cons: Summarizes benefits and limitations for informed decision-making.

What is Mira’s Starter Kit?
Mira is a health tech company offering at-home hormone tests, prenatal multivitamins, fertility tea, online courses, and other products.
Mira’s Starter Kit is their flagship product.
Shortly: it’s a palm-sized at-home lab for your hormones. The FSA/HSA-qualified testing system measures certain fertility hormones and their metabolites in urine.
The attractive monitor is easy and intuitive. But inside the little ‘egg,’ there is a complicated technology called immunochromatography with fluorescence labeling. Similar fluorescence-based tech is often used at real fertility labs. The labs allow Mira to provide you with real numeric hormone scores in just 21 minutes.
Once measured, the results are tracked and analyzed using the Mira AI, which is trained on 4M+ hormone data points. As a result, users get a personalized hormonal chart, scores, and interpretations with 99% accuracy. It’s the near perfect accuracy for me. It screams reliability!
What’s included?
The Mira Max Starter Kit includes all of the following:
- Mira Analyzer
- Deluxe Mira Carrying Pouch
- Charging Cable
- 10 or 20 Single-use Test Wands which measure Estradiol Metabolite (E3G), Luteinizing Hormone (LH), and Pregnanediol-3-Glucuronide (PdG)
- 1 Silicone Cup
- Quickstart Guide
Users must also download the free Mira App on their smartphone or tablet to use the system.
What does it measure?
The test wands included in the Fertility Plus Starter Kit measure the following:
- LH (Luteinizing Hormone) to predict ovulation.
- E3G (Estradiol Metabolite) to identify your full 6-day fertile window.
- PdG (Pregnanediol-3-Glucuronide) to confirm ovulation.
It is also possible to measure FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone) with Mira to check your fertility health status and evaluate how far you are from menopause. Mira’s FSH testing wands are not included in the Starter Kit. However, they can be purchased separately with the (Ovum Wands) or in the Bundle.
Who is it for?
Anyone with ovaries can use Mira to learn more about their reproductive health.
Mira is particularly suitable for individuals and couples who are:
- Planning a pregnancy.
- Struggling to become pregnant.
- Struggling to balance hormones due to lifestyle factors or medical conditions – such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
- Looking to monitor reproductive hormones while undergoing fertility treatments.
- Looking to monitor reproductive hormones during perimenopause.
How does testing work?
Testing with Mira is simple. All you have to do is:
- Collect a urine sample.
- Dip the test wand into the urine sample for 10-20 seconds.
- Insert the wand into the Mira Analyzer.
- Open the Mira App to view your real-time numeric LH, E3G, or PdG levels. You also can consider your hormone curve, cycle calendar, and cycle insights.
Note: Testing at least 10-20 times per cycle is recommended for the most accurate results.
What can you do with your results?
If you are actively TTC, you can use your results to identify your ovulation day and estimated 6-day fertile window. You can also confirm whether or not ovulation occurred. And for someone who wants to get familiar with her cycle, I loved it!
What are the costs?
The Mira Max Starter Kit costs $229 for the 10-wands version and $249 for the 20-wands version.
This entire kit should get you through your first cycle of using Mira. After that, you will not need to purchase the analyzer again to continue testing. You will, however, need to buy more test wands to continue testing.
As of now, there are five options of the Wands (x 20 in the box) available for the Mira analyzer:
- Mira Fertility Plus Wands track LH, and E3G, and cost $64.99 for 20 wands.
- Mira Fertility Max Wands track LH, E3G, and PdG and cost $89 for 20 wands.
- Mira Fertility Confirm Wands track PdG and cost $67.99 for 20 wands.
- Mira Ovum Wands track FSH and cost $45 for 20 wands.
- You can save up to 10% by subscribing to a monthly or bi-monthly subscription.
Also, you can subscribe to Mira to get a delightful welcome discount.
What is Inito Starter Kit?
Inito is a Silicon Valley-based health tech company. The Inito Starter Kit is designed to help individuals test for luteinizing hormone (LH), estrogen, and pregnanediol-3-glucuronide (PdG) in urine.
What’s included?
The Inito Starter Kit includes:
- 1X Fertility Monitor
- 1X Phone Attachment Clip
- 15X Test Strips
Take note that Inito is only compatible with iPhones after iPhone 7. Android phones are currently not supported. Fortunately, I have the right iPhone , but I would have had a pretty big issue if I didn’t. Yikes!
What does it measure?
Each test strip measures the presence of luteinizing hormone (LH), estrogen, and pregnanediol-3-glucuronide (PdG). Users can use this information to identify up to six fertile days each cycle and also confirm ovulation. And when quantity counts the most, I like that!
Who is it for?
The Inito Starter Kit is suitable for individuals and couples who:
- Have an iPhone 7 or above.
- Have a cycle length between 21-45 days.
- Are actively planning a pregnancy but struggling to have sex at the right time each cycle.
- Have an interest in learning more about if/when ovulation is occurring.
How does testing work?
Testing with Inito requires following the steps below:
- Collect a urine sample.
- Dip the test strip into the urine sample for 15 seconds.
- Attach the fertility monitor to an iPhone 7 or above using the phone clip.
- Insert the test strip into the monitor.
- View the results in the Inito app.
Note: The number of tests per cycle can vary depending on cycle length. 12-15 tests are typically required for individuals with an average cycle length of 30 days.
What can you do with your results?
Individuals or couples who are actively TTC can use their LH and Estrogen results to estimate up to 6 days of their fertile window and predict ovulation. This empowers couples to plan sex when they are at peak fertility. The PdG results can then be used to confirm that ovulation has happened.
What are the costs?
The price of the Inito Starter Kit is $149. This kit includes the fertility monitor, phone clip, and 15 test strips. Additional packs of 15 test strips can also be purchased for $49 per pack on the Inito website or in the app.
Mira vs. Inito
Mira: Pros & Cons
The primary benefit of Mira is its lab-grade accuracy that accounts for inconsistencies while also providing users with more personalized results.
For example, instead of displaying a user’s fertility as “Low”, “High” or “Peak”, Mira provides users with their exact hormone values. The Mira app then uses AI technology to analyze each individual’s unique hormone patterns – making it the ideal option for those who experience irregular cycles or multiple LH peaks. This high level of sensitivity also means that it is PCOS-friendly and appropriate to use alongside fertility treatments.
Another pro is that the Mira system also has the potential to measure follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), which can give insight into overall fertility health and status.
When compared to Inito, the main downside of Mira is its higher cost. However, Mira is a more practical investment for long-term fertility health and wellness.
Inito: Pros & Cons
The primary benefit of testing with Inito compared to Mira is its lower startup cost. Inito’s test strips also have a lower price point compared to Mira’s family of testing wands – although Mira does offer several discounts.
One of the key downsides of Inito is that it relies on a phone camera to read each test result. This reliance on external factors like camera quality can interfere with accuracy, and in some cases lead to inaccurate results.
Another downside of Inito compared to Mira is that it does not provide users with their exact hormone levels. Instead, it can only give insight into whether a user is considered at “Low”, “Peak”, or “High” fertility based on a standard hormone threshold. This means that Intio is not suitable for those with irregular cycles or hormone conditions like PCOS.
Final Thoughts
If you have a regular cycle, between 21-45 days in length, you can get by with the Inito Starter Pack. Remember that it can assist you with estimating your 6-day fertile window for each cycle. But it’s important to also keep in mind that Inito’s technology is no different than a standard OPK, so your results will still show as “Low,” “High,” or “Peak” fertility. I feel that’s too vague because I need to know more specifics about what’s going on during my cycle.
On the other hand, if you:
- Know that you have an irregular cycle
- Have a hormonal condition such as PCOS
- Are currently undergoing fertility treatments or
- Want insight into your exact hormone levels and patterns
Then the Mira Max Starter Kit is a better choice for you due to its lab-grade accuracy and extended hormone detection ranges. I loved getting my hormone numbers because I knew what was happening. Plus, this is great info to take to my doctor if they need details.
I’m actually well over 35 years old, so it was amazing to have my FSH measured, so I know how close I am to menopause, which to me is a huge perk (pssst… I’m not close quite yet!). And the convenience of the Max Starter Kit made it easy to track everything from the app, and I didn’t have to do anything extra. Plus, it’s also friendly for all of my ‘droid users. 10/10 would recommend 😊.
